From invoice to paid & protected.

A step-by-step look at what happens from the moment you protect an invoice to the moment it's resolved, including exactly what happens if a customer doesn't pay.

Five steps. You do one of them.

Everything past step one is on us. You protect the invoice, we do the rest.

01 Onboard & Confirm
Before you can protect an invoice, your customer needs to confirm themselves on Grunt IP and accept our terms, that’s what makes it legally enforceable. Once they’re onboarded, add $4 protection when you send the invoice.
02 Evidence
Attach proof the work was done. This is what makes the invoice enforceable if it ever needs to go further.
03 Track
Every protected invoice shows up on your dashboard, sent, viewed, paid, or overdue. No spreadsheets, no manual follow-up on your end.
04 Remind & deter
If a customer doesn’t pay, we take over from here. Automated reminders escalate on a set schedule.
05 Litigate
Still unpaid after the process runs its course? Our legal partners take it from there, however far it needs to go. You stay out of it completely.

What counts as evidence.

You don't need a lawyer to put this together, just whatever you'd normally keep on file for a job.

A signed order
A quote, work order, or agreement the customer accepted, even an email confirmation counts.
Proof of delivery
A delivery docket, signed handover, or photo showing the work was completed or goods received.
A communication trail
Emails or messages confirming scope, price, or timing, useful backup even if you have the other two.

Why it's a flat fee, not a cut.

$4 is priced against what it actually costs to run the process, not against the size of your invoice.

Debt collectors
~20–30% typically taken as a cut of whatever they recover, the bigger the invoice, the more they take.
Invoice insurance
An upfront premium charged on every invoice you send, whether it ever needs cover or not.
Grunt IP
A flat $4 fee per invoice you choose to protect, the same whether it’s worth $400 or $40,000.

Questions about the mechanics.

Yes, protection is chosen per invoice, not per customer. Only the ones you protect get pursued if they go unpaid.
No. Tracking, reminders, and escalation all run automatically from your dashboard.
Not once the 7-day dispute window has closed, this protects you from being pressured into changing terms. If both sides agree to changes before then, a refund can be processed.
Business-to-business only for now. B2C coverage is in development.

See it for yourself.

Your first 5 invoice protections are on us. Protect one today and let the dashboard do the rest.
